PKL Healthcare have over a decade of experience in designing field hospitals, building them off-site in the UK and then delivering and installing them around the globe.
Our international healthcare experience started with the delivery of a field hospital to Kosovo and since then a steady stream of field hospital projects have followed.
Most recently PKL Healthcare completed a modular field hospital at Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan. The field hospital totalled almost 2,500 m2 and consisted a number of modular operating theatres, a trauma unit and an intensive care unit for use by the military.
PKL Healthcare provide a dedicated project team to supervise the international provision of turnkey healthcare buildings, project managing the of-site construction in the factory as well as the local installation on site.
We install all of the field hospital's mechanical and Electrical systems off-site in the factory and complete the vast majority of all fit-out prior to international delivery and installation.
This approach to projects means that all of the technical areas of the hospital are built off-site, shortening the total construction period and ensuring strict quality control. In addition, although our field hospitals are designed and constructed as permanent hospitals, they can be dismantled and moved in future to areas where they are needed most.
